1. A Comprehensive Review of the Factors Influencing the Environmental Impact of different Species bred in Closed Land-based Recirculating Aquaculture Systems
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)Sammanfattning : Today the future supply of seafood is threatened due to human activities which, among other things, has led to overfishing. However, more environmental friendly initiatives of producing seafood have emerged, such as Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RASs). LÄS MER
2. Ethylene to Liquid Hydrocarbons by Heterogeneously Catalyzed Oligomerization on ZSM-5
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Fysikalisk kemiSammanfattning : The aim is to produce aliphatic liquid hydrocarbons using heterogeneous ethylene oligomerization. Thiscould potentially produce renewable synthetic fuels. Heterogeneous catalysis has some advantages overhomogeneous catalysis regarding some sustainability aspects. LÄS MER
3. Lipid content and profile of Rhodotorula toruloides during fermentation
Master-uppsats, SLU/Department of Molecular SciencesSammanfattning : Oleaginous yeast such as Rhodotorula toruloides is a promising organism for production of lipids from lignocellulosic substrates. Microbial lipids have potential applications in energy, food, feed and pharmaceutical industry, because most of the lipids are triglycerides with long chain fatty acids that are comparable to typical vegetable oils and can be obtained without arable land requirement. 4. Ciona (Ciona intestinalis) as a source of fibre for chickens : Effects on productive performance, organs weights and caecal microbiota
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Nutrition and ManagementSammanfattning : In this experimental study broiler birds were fed in a randomized block design for 32 days on a control diet (C) based on wheat and soy bean meal and two experimental diets containing 2% (C2) and 4% ciona meal (C4) to examine the suitability of Ciona intestinalis in poultry feed as a source of fibre and its effects on growth performance, microbial composition and digestive traits. Luminal content was taken from caeca at day 12 and 32 and analysed for microbiota profile and short chain fatty acids (SCFA). LÄS MER
5. Investigation of a CO-Production of Substitute Natural Gas and Biomethanol Plant Compared to Stand Alone Biomethanol Plant
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)Sammanfattning : Climate change is one of humanities greatest challenges; the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are still increasing. There is not one solution that will fix this problem several different products, raw material and technologies are required to take the steps towards a renewable society. LÄS MER
