  1. 1. A C++ Matrix library for computing the Gateaux derivative of the Fermi-Dirac operator

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskap

    Författare :William Samuelsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :C ; Quantum Chemistry; Matrix functions;

    Sammanfattning : Computing the Fermi-Dirac operator is done through recursive polynomial expansions, using the SP2 and SP2 Acc algorithms. The Gateaux derivative is computed for both schemes by mapping the zeroth and first order matrices onto a block upper triangular matrix, which is implemented in Python using Numpy arrays to store full matrices and in C++ by first constructing a basic matrix library to use as blocks in a later created block upper triangular matrix library which only directly references two blocks in a 2 x 2 block matrix. 2. 2. The effect of disorder on the axial anomaly in a lattice model in 1 + 1 dimensions

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Agnes Wattrang; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Axial anomaly; tight-binding model; semiclassical physics; correlated disorder.; Axial kiral anomali; tätbindningsmodell; semiklassisk fysik; korrelerad oordning;

    Sammanfattning : This work investigates the effect of a disorder potential, that represents impurities/dislocations in the lattice, on the time-dependent signature of the axial anomaly in a one-band tight-binding model in one spatial dimension. The tight-binding model is solved numerically and the simulation results are compared with a semiclassical expression for the time-dependent axial density, n5(t), due to Nielsen and Ninomiya [1]. 3. 3. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :Andreas Stokkeland; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Multiplicity; Multiplicity classes; Soft interactions; Quark Gluon Plasma; QGP; transverse momentum; p_T; Chi-squared; fits; fit functions; Levy; Lévy; Exponential; BGBW; Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave; Fermi-Dirac; Bose-Einstein; Boltzmann; pion; kaon; proton; transverse momentum spectra; p_T spectra; surface velocity; Minimum Bias; MB; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 4. 4. Competing phases of matter: Experimental spectroscopy study of the transition metal dichalcogenides Fe-doped TaS2 and Cu-intercalated TiSe2

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Författare :Christian Stefan Gruber; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Condensed matter physics; transition metal dichalcogenides; photoemission spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Syftet med denna avhandling är att bidra till forskningen av befintliga TMD:er (på Engelska transition metal dichalcogenide-TMD) som visar laddningstäthetsvågor och supraledning vid låga temperaturer (som 2H-TaS2). 2H-TaS2 är också känt för att visa supraledning vid 2K. 5. 5. Mathematical modeling and analysis of hot carrier solar cells

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Benjamin van Dijk; [2023]
    Nyckelord :solar cell; nanowires; hot carrier; nanowire; analysis; mathematical model; trends; fermi function; reservoirs; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the analysis of a mathematical model of a nanowire based hot carrier solar cell. The relevance of the topic comes from the energy crisis society is facing today. Firstly, we discuss the basic principle of hot carrier solar cells and discuss several energy loss factors. LÄS MER
