  1. 1. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluation of Physics Informed Neural Networks in engineering simple structural analysis problems

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Författare :Georgios Nentidis; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neural Networks have found many applications for a long time in Machine Learning in different disciplines, and have especially flourished in the last decade because of the ever-increasing processing power especially from GPUs. Because of their ability to operate as universal function approximators and model nonlinear processes, attempts have been made in recent years to be also used for modeling partial differential equation (PDE) solutions. 3. 3. Approximating Damping Coefficient of Bolted Joints using the Finite Element Method

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Författare :Abhiroop Chatterjee; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Bolted joints are important due to their energy dissipation property in structures,but the damping mechanism is also highly nonlinear and localized. The goal ofthis thesis is to develop an accurate method for modeling bolted joint dampingin large structures using finite element (FE) software. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mechanical and thermal buckling analysis of laminated composite plates

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för företagande, innovation och hållbarhet

    Författare :Aswin Paremmal; Roopak Kuruthukulangara Varghese; [2023]
    Nyckelord :composite material; Mechanical Buckling; Buckling analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Composite laminated structures have many application fields such as aerospace, civil, marine, bio medical, transportation, and mechanical engineering because of their convenience in handling, and very good mechanical properties. Buckling behavior of laminated composite plates subjected to plane loads is indeed an important consideration in the primary design of aircraft and launch vehicle components. LÄS MER

  5. 5. FE-modelling of glulam connection in a pre-tensioned glulam truss : Detailed Finite element modelling of the connection between primary beam and compression stud in a sub-tensioned glulam roof truss

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Författare :Edward Sebastian Swaretz; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Glulam; sub-tensioned roof truss; connection; instability; Abaqus Standard; Finite element method;

    Sammanfattning : After the collapse of the roof structure in Tarfalahallen 2020, great attention has been focused on instability of sub-tensioned glulam roof trusses. Investigations were launched to find the reason for the collapse and the cause was instability in the roof truss that supported the roof. LÄS MER
