  1. 1. Rapid expansion of roof mounted PV systems in commercial facilities - How can they be insured?

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Riskhantering (CI); Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Erik Lindén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :PV system fires; PV component failures; PV regulations; future PV regulations; PV risk assessment; PV risk evaluation; PV insurance price; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : PV system components that are exposed to unmanageable strain can be overheated, which subsequently results in a fire ignition. Common failure factors are poor component quality, mechanical exposure due to natural phenomena and poor craftmanship. The underlying problem is that PV regulations are lacking in quality or are non-existent. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Consequences of using Quantitative Risk Assessment as a verification tool

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

    Författare :Joey Öström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Quantitative Risk Assessment; QRA; performance-based design; verification tool; performance solution; performance requirements; fire risk assessment; residential building; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : What are the consequences of using Quantitative risk assessment (QRA) as a verification tool? Performance-based building codes differ from prescriptive-based codes in that they define specific objectives to be met, enabling the building designer to choose which solution to use so long it meets the objectives. This master’s thesis explores the consequences of using QRA as a verification tool in comparison to existing verification methods currently in use in Australia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Youth Preparedness in the United States: Assessing the Impact of the American Red Cross’s “Prepare with Pedro!” Program

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Julia Sandberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Disaster preparedness; children and families; DRR preparedness education programs; fire safety; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Home fires are the most prevalent and preventable disaster in the United States. It is notoriously difficult to teach disaster preparedness skills to adults. But, when their children are taught this material, households are more likely to make changes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Prescribed burning in Sweden : an evaluation of structural outcomes from restoration oriented prescribed burns

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Ecology

    Författare :Virginia Hermanson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :prescribed burning; restoration; boreal forest; biodiversity burning; dead wood;

    Sammanfattning : The application of prescribed burning as a conservation measure is a growing trend in Fennoscandia to restore forest landscapes that have been heavily impacted by humans. Both intensive management for forestry and wildfire suppression altered the disturbances shaping boreal forests over the past centuries, which seen today are more homogenous, lacking dead wood and deciduous trees, and are in the successional process towards darker Picea abies (Norway spruce) dominated stands. 5. 5. Beslutsmodell för utvärdering av byggsystem : En fallstudie av beslutsmodeller för val av stomsystem på JM

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Författare :Charlotte Jakobsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Decision model; Multi-criteria decision analysis; Building system; Multi-dwelling timber building; Uncertainty and equivocality; Beslutsmodell; Multikriterieanalys; Byggsystem; Flerbostadshus i trä; Osäkerhet och tvetydighet;

    Sammanfattning : Flerbostadshus i trä blir alltmer vanliga på den svenska marknaden, men det finns fortfarande osäkerheter och tvetydigheter som gör byggherrar tveksamma. Det finns ett behov av att skapa diskussions- och beslutsunderlag som kan användas vid implementering av nya byggsystem. LÄS MER
