  1. 1. Surf Simulation with the Shallow Water Equations : Coupling of a surfer model to a shallow water wave

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Anton Thorell; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the subject of deriving and solving the system of partial differential equations known as the Shallow Water Equations (SWE), and coupling the solutions of this equation system to a simplified model of a surfer - or any floating object, with the right choice of parameters. The SWE are generally used to analyze fluid movement on shallow areas, such as ocean waves nearing the shore, and are derived from the Navier-Stokes equations and restricted to conservation of mass and momentum in a fluid. 2. 2. Formation of Eu II spectral features in magnetic chemically peculiar stars

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Författare :Luca Schmidt; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The advancing resolution of modern spectrometers uncovers increasingly detailed spectral features in astrophysical observations which can be attributed to properties of the energy structure of the corresponding atomic systems such as fine, hyperfine and Zeeman splitting. At the same time, increasing computational power enables us to include these quantum mechanical interactions on different levels of sophistication in our theoretical atomic structure calculations. 3. 3. Ice Sheet Modeling: Accuracy of First-Order Stokes Model with Basal Sliding

    Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Eskil Jonsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Ice sheet modelling; First-Order Stokes model; basal sliding; Stokes equations;

    Sammanfattning : Some climate models are still lacking features such as dynamical modelling of ice sheets due to their computational cost which results in poor accuracy and estimates of e.g. sea level rise. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A CFD Method for Simulation of Gas-Liquid Flow in Cooling Systems : An Eulerian-Eulerian Approach

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Författare :Malin Lind; Karl Johan Josefsson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :CFD; Gas-Liquid; Two-phase; Eulerian; Air bubbles; Flow; Eulerian-Eulerian; Cooling system;

    Sammanfattning : When designing modern engines it is important to construct a cooling system that cools the engine structure efficiently. Within the cooling system there is always a certain amount of air which can accumulate and form air pockets in critical areas, such as the water jacket, which can lead to wall degradation. LÄS MER
