1. Riskreducerande åtgärder för vätgasläckage
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : Hydrogen use increase and so does the knowledge about its risks, but not necessarily about how to handle these risks. Limited literature is available about risk mitigation for hydrogen use, the objective of this thesis is to increase this knowledge. LÄS MER
2. Predictive Study of Flame status inside a combustor of a gas turbine using binary classification
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskapSammanfattning : Quick and accurate detection of flame inside a gas turbine is very crucial to mitigaterisks in power generation. Failure of flame detection increases downtime and maintenancecosts and on rare occasions it may cause explosions due to buildup of incombustible fuel inside the combustion chamber. LÄS MER
3. Analysis of polyfunctional thiols in beer : Developing a novel method of extraction and analysis using GC-FID
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)Sammanfattning : In this project, attempts were made to identify and quantify two polyfunctional thiols – 4-mercapto-4-methyl-pentanone and 3-mercaptohexyl acetate – and three monoterpene alcohols – linalool, geraniol, and β-citronellol – in beer samples. In order to avoid the use of hazardous compounds such as dichloromethane and hydroxymercuriobenzoate, common in traditional methods, two novel techniques were tested: a pure liquid-liquid extraction of the beer samples with cyclohexane, and a liquid-liquid extraction with cyclohexane followed by solid phase extraction on silver ion columns. 4. Detection of nitrous oxide through IR-DFWM in gas flows with future application in ammonia flames
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : This thesis report on an investigation into the applicability of mid-infrared degenerate four-wave mixing (IR-DWFM) as a method to detect N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames. DFWM has previously been used for concentration measurements on other molecules, but has never, to the author's knowledge, been applied to measure N\(_2\)O in ammonia flames before. LÄS MER
5. Development of a GC Method for the Quantification of Short Chain Carboxylic Acids in Aqueous Solution
Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologiSammanfattning : Petroleum powered vehicles emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) through combustion that contributes to the pollution of the environment. A technique in the 1970s was developed to decrease these emissions, especially for nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulphuric oxides (SOx) which is called exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). LÄS MER
