    Sammanfattning : By studying parenting literature from the late 1800s to the mid 1900s I try to answer the question; did boys and girls upbringing differ? What rules did the different sexes have to live by according to the literature? And did they change over the time period of my investigation? The authors seems to follow the notion that boys and girl holds biological differences which can both help and hinder them to reach their ideals.
