  1. 1. Indocyanine-green fluorescence imaging to detect anastomotic insufficiency after esophagectomy

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Författare :Love Kildetoft; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Fluorescence; Imaging; Indocyanine-green; ICG; Esophageal cancer; Physics; Photonics; Image Analysis; Blood Perfusion; Anastomotic leakage; Anastomotic insufficiency; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This research project is concerned with the development of simulation models and image analysis algorithms, as well as instrumentation for characterizing anastomotic leakages after a patient has undergone surgery for esophageal cancer. Anastomotic leakage is a high-incidence complication after esophagectomy, a surgical procedure for esophageal cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Cell Identification from Microscopy Images using Deep Learning on Automatically Labeled Data

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Författare :Fredrik Salomon-Sörensen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Deep Learning; Cell Identification; Image Segmentation; Nuclei Segmentation; Convolutional Neural Networks; UNet; Image Analysis; Microscopy; Noisy Labels; Phase-Contrast; Automatic Labeling; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In biology, cell counting provides a fundamental metric for live-cell experiments. Unfortunately, most researchers are constrained to using tedious and invasive methods for counting cells. Automatic identification of cells in microscopy images would therefore be a valuable tool for such researchers. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Design and production of adeno-associated virus vectors for imaging mitochondrial networks in the brain

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Elnaz Samadian Zad; [2023]
    Nyckelord :adeno-associated virus; mitochondria; mitochondrial networks; imaging; fluorescent protein; synapsin promoter; human embryonic kidney cells; organoids;

    Sammanfattning : Mitochondria are dynamic organelles that function in a complex interconnected network within the cell. Neurons are sensitive and highly energy demanding cells in the brain which require a functioning mitochondrial network that is able to provide ATP and modulate calcium. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Water-based Synthesis of Superparamagnetic X-ray Fluorescent Contrast Agents

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Daniel Cortés García; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Nanoparticles; SPIONs; XFCT; co-precipitation.; Nanopartiklar; SPIONs; XFCT; samfällning;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays, nanomedicine is one of the most important application areas fornanoparticles (NPs), where the design and synthesis of new hybrid nanostructures have attracted much interest, when combining properties and functionalities from different constituents. For example, they have been extensivelyused for dual-mode imaging. LÄS MER
