  2. 2. Can the disappearance of the forest orchid Goodyera repens be linked to clearcutting? : a spatial analysis using citizen science data from southern Sweden.

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Ines Diaz Garcia; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Goodyera repens; knärot; Artportalen; forestry; clearcut; citizen science; southern Sweden; conservation;

    Sammanfattning : Habitat transformation through forestry has an impact on boreal species in northern Europe. This study focuses on the red-listed Goodyera repens, a rhizomatous evergreen orchid. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mängden död ved i värdekärnor i Söderåsens nationalpark

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre

    Författare :Gustav Thurell; [2024]
    Nyckelord :volym död ved; stående död ved; liggande död ved; bokskog; nedbrytningsgrad; värdekärna;

    Sammanfattning : There is a lack of knowledge about the development of the dead wood in former production beech (Fagus sylvatica) forests that have been protected. The present study has been carried out in Söderåsen National Park to compare the distribution of dead wood in relatively unaffected beech forests that have been protected for a long time (A-value cores) and older, previously managed beech forest that has only been protected for 20-30 years (B-value cores). 4. 4. Economic development in a biodiversity hotspot: what is the jungle worth? : A case study of local understandings of forest use in North Sumatra

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

    Författare :Sydney Laewen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Minor Field Study; Sustainable development; Economic development; Natural resource use; Biodiversity; Conservation; Discourse analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Sustainable development as our joint global goal is consensus in the mainstream international arena, in the name of long-term well-being for all living creatures. However economic constraints often limit the choices available to local communities, forcing them to make trade-offs between immediate socioeconomic gains and the long-term sustainability of natural resources. 5. 5. Effectiveness of the Costa Rican Payments for Ecosystem Services program in mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions: Trends in carbon stocks 2012-2020

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Författare :Noelia Solano Guindon; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Payments for ecosystem services; ecosystem services; carbon stocks; greenhouse gas emissions; mitigation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Payments for ecosystem services (PES), a mechanism of incentives or compensation to landowners for provision of ecosystem services, have grown as a tool for meeting conservation goals. The Costa Rican payments for ecosystem services (PSA) program is one of the best-known examples because of being one of the most established. LÄS MER
