  1. 1. Acceleration of Massive MIMO algorithms for Beyond 5G Baseband processing

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för informationsteknologi

    Författare :Ellen Nihl; Eek de Bruijckere; [2023]
    Nyckelord :embedded systems; massive MIMO; GPU; massive MIMO detection; Zero-Forcing algorithm; Cholesky decomposition; CUDA; 5G and Beyond;

    Sammanfattning : As the world becomes more globalised, user equipment such as smartphones and Internet of Things devices require increasingly more data, which increases the demand for wireless data traffic. Hence, the acceleration of next-generational networks (5G and beyond) focuses mainly on increasing the bitrate and decreasing the latency. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Improving the Accuracy of FFT-based GPGPU Ocean Surface Simulations

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Författare :Jacob Eriksson; Joakim Wingård; [2022-12-01]
    Nyckelord :computer graphics; 3D graphics; real-time rendering; Fourier transform; FFT; simulation; GPGPU; interactive; ocean wave spectrum; oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : In this paper, we explore how the current state of the art in real-time ocean simulations can be improved in terms of simulation accuracy, while preserving performance. Current methods, both in academia and in the industry, simulate an ocean model in frequency space on the GPU, convert said model on an approximately frame-byframe basis to the spatial domain using the Fourier transform, and then read back the resulting heightfield to the CPU as input to the application’s physics engine. 3. 3. GPU Volume Voxelization : Exploration of the performance characteristics of different GPU-based implementations

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Grigory Glukhov; Aleksandra Soltan; [2019]
    Nyckelord :voxelization; GPU; GPGPU; SIMT; thread divergence; Vulkan API; voxelization; GPU; GPGPU; SIMT; tråd divergering; Vulkan API;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, voxel-based modelling has seen a reintroduction to computer game development through massive graphics hardware improvements. Never- theless, polygons continue to be the default building block of 3D objects, intro- ducing a need for the transformation of polygon meshes into voxel-based models; this process is known as voxelization. 4. 4. Design and Implementation of a Compiler for an XML-based Hardware Description Language to Support Energy Optimization

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Programvara och system

    Författare :Ming-Jie Yang; [2017]
    Nyckelord :XML; hardware description language; compiler;

    Sammanfattning : GPU-based heterogeneous system architectures are popular as they combine the advantages of CPU with the benefits of GPU. Development of high-performance and power-efficient software for heterogeneous system architecture needs to take both hardware and software specifications into consideration, which leads the software development process to be more complicated. 5. 5. Sparse-Matrix support for the SkePU library for portable CPU/GPU programming

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Vishist Sharma; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Sparse Matrix; SkePU; auto tuning; CPU GPU programming; conversion function; profile guided composition;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis work we have extended the SkePU framework by designing a new container data structure for the representation of generic two dimensional sparse matrices. Computation on matrices is an integral part of many scientific and engineering problems. Sometimes it is unnecessary to perform costly operations on zero entries of the matrix. LÄS MER
