3. X-ray imaging of water flow through soil
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentSammanfattning : In this study a laboratory experiment on preferential flow was conducted with the aim to quantify the importance of water repellency, soil structure and irrigation rate on water infiltration into soil. To do so, the study was conducted as follows: (a) comparison between the wetting fronts of the irrigations done on the same sample; (b) the tortuosity of the wetting fronts, this was analysed calculating a tortuosity index; (c) the average infiltration velocity and (d) a visual comparison between the 3D images. 4. Climate Adaptation Strategies and Projections on Water Discharge in the Euphrates-Tigris River Basin
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresursläraSammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the climate adaptation strategies regarding water resources in the regional context of the three major riparians of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers: Turkey, Syria and Iraq. The objectives are: to base the analysis on the criteria benefit, consequences and limits to the social as well as the technical factors affecting the water availability and to use WW-HYPE, which is a HBV based model, to support literature on climate projections in the area. 5. Impact of Stormwater reuse (Rainwater Harvesting) in areas with combined sewer network
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : Due to the combined effect of intense rainfall events together with the expected impact of climate change, this will put pressure on the existing and future infrastructure for storm water management. One of the challenges related to this is the combined sewer system which is still operating in large areas of many cities worldwide. LÄS MER
