  1. 1. The potential nitrous oxide emissions in a permanent grassland chronosequence

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology

    Författare :Sandra Lillsjö Kronblad; [2023]
    Nyckelord :nitrous oxide emission; permanent grasslands; denitrification; nitrous; reen house gas; agriculture;

    Sammanfattning : As a part of a larger project (Belowground biodiversity of grasslands – conservation needs and potential to promote sustainable agriculture), this study aims to investigate potential nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions and microbial gene abundances needed for the production (nirS and nirK) and reduction (nosZI and nosZII) of nitrous oxide in soil of permanent grasslands of various age. Thegrasslands have at different times been converted to permanent grasslands and are of interest because of the possibility to shed more light about the passage of time’s affects on the soil microbialcommunities and their activity. 2. 2. Investigations of miR-34a structure and dynamics by SHAPE MaP and optimal time between transfection and modification by qPCR

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Proteinvetenskap

    Författare :Ellinor Lindén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :SHAPE MaP; qPCR; miRNA; HNF4α; mRNA-34a; SHAPE MaP; qPCR; miRNA; HNF4α; mRNA-34a;

    Sammanfattning : microRNA (miRNA) är korta icke-kodande RNA sekvenser som har fått ökande uppmärksamhet då de kan binda till mRNA och styra vårt genuttryck. Omkring trettio procent av våra proteinkodande gener styrs av miRNA. miRNA binder till mRNA vilket hindrar dess translation eller leder till nedbrytning av mRNA. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Actin filaments as an indicator of impaired neuronal differentiation mediated by disruption of the retinoic acid signalling pathway

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Hanin Salloum; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Retinoic acid; actin; cytoskeleton; neural progenitor C17.2 cells; neuron; Coronin 1C; Cdc42 Cdc42 effector protein 4 gene ; Fn1 Fibronectin ; Wnt pathway.;

    Sammanfattning : Retinoic acid (RA) is a well-known neurodevelopmental signaling molecule. It is reported to induce effects on neurite formation in differentiating neurons and to interfere with the actin cytoskeleton. Therefore, this project aimed to investigate the mechanisms behind effects of RA on the actin cytoskeleton of developing neurons using the C17. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Imputing connections of random gene networks from time series data using ANNs

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Sofia Andersson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :artificial neural networks; ANNs; gene regulatory networks; GRNs; imputation; gene regulatory network imputation; GRN imputation; CNNs; convolutional neural network; randomly generated networks; ternary classification; binary classification; network inference; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the architecture of a convolutional neural network which is trained to impute the connections of randomly generated gene regulatory networks under varying amounts of regularisation. The generated gene networks are simulated from 10 different starting conditions for each set of connections in order to obtain multiple time series. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Automated pipeline for processing fluorescence calcium imaging microscopy data and electrophysiological measurements from 3D brain organoids

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i bioinformatik

    Författare :Mattis Knulst; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Motivation: 3D brain organoids are biological models of human brain development from which a rich body of data can be extracted that allows for insights about neuronal dynamics. Several tools, such as fluorescence calcium imaging microscopy and electrophysiological recordings are being used to assess how 3D brain organoid dynamics recapitulate what is known from the human brain.
