  1. 1. Glacier front variatons in Sweden: 2015-2022

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Martin Houssais; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Swedish glaciers; Glacier front variation; Remote sensing; MaQiT; Sentinel-2; Handheld GNSS; UAV photogrammetry; Total station;

    Sammanfattning : This study aims at increasing the amount of data available on recent past Swedish glacier front variations, at improving the knowledge on the present behavior of these glaciers, and at contributing to the defnition of the guideline for future of glacier front observations in Sweden. To do so, the study proposes Sentinel-2 based yearly front variation measurements for 22 Swedish glaciers between 2015 and 2022, calculated based on the multicentreline approach of the MaQiT tool. 2. 2. Foreland evolution of Blåisen, Norway, over the course of an ablation season

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Alexander Hamilton-Foyn; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Geomorphological Mapping; Structure from Motion; Glacial Landforms; Ice-Marginal Landforms; Landform Preservation; Hardangerjøkulen; Norway; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This study presents a detailed investigation into the evolution of sedimentary landforms over an ablation season at Blåisen, an outlet of the Hardangerjøkulen Icecap, Norway. The two visits to Blåisen, one each side of the ablation season, allowed the preservation and evolution of the landforms to be studied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Effects of snow-free season, temperature and radiation variations on the retreat of Linné glacier, Svalbard

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Juliano Hanna; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Glacier; Arctic; Svalbard; climate change; GIS; drone; air temperature and solar radiation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Linné glacier has retreated approximately 1.8 km since 1936 and 1 km between 1995 and 2019. Linné glacier is following the same trend as other glaciers around Svalbard. Linné glacier is a well-monitored glacier with a time series of air temperature, incoming solar radiation and snow height data since 2003. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Aspects of Error Quantification and Evaluation in Digital Elevation Models for Glacier Surfaces

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Jip Jan van Zoonen; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Physical Geography; Digital Elevation Model; DEM; Glaciology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Aspects of Error Quantification and Evaluation in Digital Elevation Models for Glacier Surfaces This study explores methods to quantify and evaluate error in digital elevation models (DEMs) built from remotely sensed elevation data of the Hintereisferner glacier. A special focus lies on glacier surfaces because glaciers are often inaccessible for field observations but at the same time prone to measurement errors. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Assessing evolution of ice caps in Suðurland, Iceland, in years 1986 - 2014, using multispectral satellite imagery

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Alicja Miodonska; [2019]
    Nyckelord :remote sensing; multispectral satellite imagery; Landsat; Iceland; glaciers; ice caps; Geography; GIS; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The study focuses on the application of multispectral satellite imageries in glaciological studies. It aims to assess how the Icelandic glaciers have evolved over the last decades (from the 1980s to 2014). The study area covers Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull ice caps located in Suðurland, Iceland. LÄS MER
