    Sammanfattning : The essay Ulrika Eleonora was Wilhelm Edstedt - a godly man and sinful woman: A discourse analysis of the trial in 1729 against Ulrika Eleonora Stålhammar's disguise as a man, aims with the case of Ulrika Eleonora Stålhammar to shed light on the legal treatment of women in early modern times, and what notions of femininity and masculinity existed about women who wore men's clothes.     Sammanfattning : Through a diplomatic transcription and contextualisation of two poems from Geistliche und Weltliche Poemata (1650) by Anna Ovena Hoyer (1584-1655) it is suggested that two contexts are highly relevant and fruitful for understanding the polemical nature of the Early Modern Era. The two examined contexts are anti-clericalism  ̶  the negative stance towards Lutheran clergymen  ̶  and the conditions for writing as a female in Early Modern times. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : 19th century America is shaped greatly by territorial expansion into NativeAmerican lands. A famous painting which represents this process is called AmericanProgress by John Gast. This study argues that the display of power between the settlersand the Native Americans in the painting mirrors the dominant discourse on 19th centurywestward expansion. LÄS MER
