    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate how temporary employment affects a work place and its employees and also, from a gender perspective, investigate how individuals relate to their insecure work situation. Political commitments at local level should be carried out alongside labour or other occupation; and thus the overall aim of the thesis is to investigate if labour market mechanisms affect women’s representation in local governments.
