    Sammanfattning : The starting point of this study is national as well as international surveys which show that the study motivation and general level of knowledge among Swedish students have decreased. The questions at issue are: 1) What kind of literature do the students read? 2) How well do the students understand literary texts? 3) What do the students think about their literature education?
