- Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)
Sammanfattning : The results of the attempt to simulate a 1,5 kW-class Stationary PlasmaThruster (SPT) type Hall Effect thruster exhaust plumes are presented. This work focuses on the simulation of the near field region since acharged particle can directly affect the other systems of the spacecraft, such as solar panels, camera etc. LÄS MER
2. A Xenon Collisional Radiative Model for Electric Propulsion Application : Determining the electron temperature in a Halleffect ThrusterMaster-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)
Sammanfattning : Hall effect thrusters (HET) that rely on xenon as a propellant are widely adoptedtoday for their efficiency. To understand the kinetics of the xenon plasma dischargein the thruster, we developed a collisional radiative model for xenoninspired by the work of Karabadzhak et al. . LÄS MER
- Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik
Sammanfattning : In the last 30 years, numerical models have been developed to properly analyze Hall eect thrusters (HET),leading to a bridge between analytical prediction/empirical intuition and experiments. For companies in thespace sector, these codes serve to much more than simply simulating the thruster, but it provides a fast, cheapand reliable tool for processes such as validation and verication procedures, as well as for technical developmentof the thruster. 4. Low–voltage External Discharge Plasma Thruster and Hollow Cathodes Plasma Plume Diagnostics Utilising Electrostatic Probes and Retarding Potential AnalyserMaster-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik
Sammanfattning : The present thesis is the result of a research period at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science of the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, ISAS/JAXA within Funaki Laboratory of the Department of Space Flight Systems that followed the path of plume plasma diagnostics for space electric propulsion drives. During the experimental studies two high-current hollow cathodes and an innovative prototype of a low-voltage fully external discharge plasma thruster (XPT) had their plasma plumes diagnosed using electrostatic probes and retarding potential analyser (RPA).
