1. Feasibility study of a high-rise CLT building in a seismic area with high wind loads : A finite element approach
Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnadSammanfattning : Timber has been used as a construction material for thousands of years. However, the inventions of stronger materials and increased construction of taller buildings hasled to decreased use of wood products. LÄS MER
2. Are Skyscrapers Too Tall? : The Case of Southern Stockholm
Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för geografiSammanfattning : The number of skyscrapers are increasing rapidly across the world. Interest is growing considerably in places such as Asia and Europe. Because of their height skyscrapers have a strong symbolic value and can help a city attract interest. LÄS MER
3. Catenary action to prevent progressive collapse in multistorey timber buildings : An experimental study of tube joints
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Träteknik; Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik, maskin- och materialteknikSammanfattning : In the modern building industry wood as a building material has been looked on as one of the solutions to lower the environmentally impact of the building industry. Building types that normally have been reserved for concrete and steel are today being built with wood as main load bearing component. LÄS MER
4. Lateral Stabilization of CLT Buildings - Modelling approaches
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Byggnadsmekanik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för byggvetenskaperSammanfattning : Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is an environmentally positive building material with high stiffness and load-bearing capacity. In combination with a low self-weight, CLT is a beneficial material to use for the load-bearing structure of high-rise buildings. LÄS MER
5. THE USE OF ELEVATORS FOR EVACUATION IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : This study focuses on the human factors associated with elevator use during evacuation in residential buildings. An online survey is conducted to explore seven factors that may influence people’s choice of elevators in China and the United Kingdom, including floor height, waiting time for elevators, crowd density in front of elevators, mobility limitations, instructions, fire location concerning people’s current location, and information about reliability of elevators during evacuation.
