16. The Role of Technology in Humanitarian Accountability : Analysis of Social Listening Role During the COVID-19 Response
Magister-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för konst, kultur och kommunikation (K3)Sammanfattning : During recent public health emergencies, such as COVID-19 pandemic, the spread of over, false and misinformation in social media, resulted in an exponential use of digital social listening methodologies- in summary defined as collection and analysis of voices, concerns and/or perceptions expressed by individuals and communities- as part of the humanitarian response. This raises the question on how those social listening findings are being used and influence emergency responses, while also addressing affected people’s needs and concerns, as part of the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) mandate- an obligation of every organisation on the ground to place people affected by crisis at the centre of humanitarian action and promote respect for their human rights. 18. Reproduction and Resistance : Female Bodies and Agency in the Sahrawi Liberation Struggle
Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Umeå centrum för genusstudier (UCGS)Sammanfattning : This study sets out to investigate Sahrawi women’s understanding of maternities as bodily and embodied experiences of collective and individual resistance within the Sahrawi liberation struggle against the occupation of Western Sahara. By using the Sahrawi liberation front’s pronatalist politics as a starting point to explore Sahrawi women’s positioning in the liminal space between reproductive health and biological reproduction as a socio-political action, I draw on a decolonial understanding of agency to analyse the relationship between individual health and collective resistance – especially in correlation with the increase of humanitarian projects targeting sexual and reproductive health.
