   Sammanfattning : The purpose of this essay is to investigate if there are any factors in the childhood and in the creating of our self- image which can explain why some people become drug abusers, and the feelings they live with under the abuse. This essay investigates the importance of self-image in an individual’s choice of a life of drug abuse, the strategies used to hide deviant behaviour, the emotions that underlie that behaviour and the reasons given for acting deviantly.
