    Sammanfattning : Forests are becoming an increasingly important tool for the EU in its fight against climate change following the introduction of the Union’s Green Deal and the recent Forest Strategy for 2030. However, since forest policy in itself is not an EU competence, but instead a national competence decided and managed by the individual Member States, this makes any attempts from Brussels to shape forest policies in a certain direction a sensitive matter, not least for forest-rich Sweden.
