    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to explore how people that have grown up in Sweden with non- European parents (also known as “the 2nd generation of immigrants) perceive their possibilities to fulfil notions of European identity, while also exploring if there are any differences between ethnic groups regarding their possibilities to fulfil such notions.     Sammanfattning : Given the increased debates concerning Muslims and Islamophobia in Sweden, the purpose of this essay has been to investigate the ways in which open and closed views about Muslims and Islam are expressed in digital teaching materials for lower and upper secondary school in the subject of religious studies, through a theoretical lens of Islamophobia.     Sammanfattning : Since summer 2016 France has experienced several episodes of “moral panic” about a three-pieces swimsuit worn by Muslim women, the “burkini”, whether on the occasion of attempts to ban it from beaches, or on the opposite to allow it in the swimming pools. These Islamophobic expressions are part of a French history of shaping the figure of “Muslim women”, controlling their bodies through their clothing, from “veil” to “burkini”, and silencing them.
