    Sammanfattning : Yatsu has both been described as an ‘abusive’ version of the nominaliser mono, as well having properties not shared with mono. In this paper, the Japanese nominaliser yatsu was examined using the written corpus Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese (BCCWJ) created by the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL). In a 2010 study, Hideko Abe published a book titled Queer Japanese, which addressed this exact question.     Sammanfattning : This corpus-based study investigates the most frequent occurring prepositional verbs collocated with the Japanese syntactic compound verb -kiru and aims to establish how the prepositional verb affects the semantic meaning of the verb-kiru construct. The study uses sketchengine’s online database, “Japanese Web2011”, which contains around 8 billion Japanese terms collected from the internet from various online sources from 2011 and onwards.
