   Sammanfattning : Aiming at a deeper understanding of social structure in male dominated spaces this essay regards Swedish correctional facilities as pedagogical institutions where participants engage in learning activities. Through the lens of the situated pedagogy of Jean Lave & Etienne Wenger the institutions are seen as constituted of two primary communities of practice, one engaging the correctional officers and one engaging the inmates.    Sammanfattning : The focus of this essay is the civic engagement of Swedish upper secondary school students. In light of recent studies showing Swedish youth to be less politically engaged in comparison to other countries, and young adults as underrepresented in representative politics, a divide can be seen between the political world of the adult and the political world of youth.
