1. Production optimization using Discrete Event Simulation : Case study of Volvo Penta engine production line
Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskapSammanfattning : Simulation allows decision-makers in modern industries analyse the outputs of specific systems, and predict future ones based on certain decision variables when in combination with optimization and Lean. This project studies the production line of boat engines in Volvo Penta at Vara (Sweden), carrying out different experiments based on a verified and validated model of the real production system using FACTS Analyzer in order to improve the key performance indicators whilst comparing the optimization performance of four genetic algorithms (NSGA-II, NSGA-III, PSO and DE) and extracting knowledge using data mining. 2. Computational and accuracy benchmarking of simulation and system-theoretic models for production systems engineering
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskapSammanfattning : The modern industry has an increasing demand for simulation software able to help workers and decision-makers visualize the outputs of a specific process in a fast, accurate way. In this report, a comparative study between FACTS (Factory Analyses in ConcepTual phase using Simulation), Plant Simulation, and PSE (Production System Engineering) Toolbox is done regarding their capacity to simulate models with increasing complexity, how accurate they are in their outputs with different optimized buffer allocations, and how well they perform on the task of detecting the bottlenecks of a process. 3. Organisational Culture Characteristics that Influence Knowledge Sharing : A Case Study on Multinational Project Teams in Latin America
Magister-uppsats, Umeå universitet/FöretagsekonomiSammanfattning : Strategic management of knowledge is considered one of the key factors for a sustainable competitive advantage. Knowledge sharing in particular is the most essential part of the knowledge management process. LÄS MER
