   Sammanfattning : West Nile virus är ett vektorburet RNA-virus som i naturen vidmakthålls i en transmissionscykel mellan myggor och fåglar. I vektorerna amplifieras viruset och vid blodmål kan fåglar infekteras och då uppnå tillräckligt hög viremi för att andra myggor ska smittas.
