1. EBSD Investigation of High-Temperature Magnetite from Apatite-Iron-Oxide Deposits: Implications for the Formation of Giant Kiruna-Type Deposits
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Mineralogi, petrologi och tektonikSammanfattning : European iron production is to a large extent dependant on massive Kiruna type apatite-iron ore deposits. In this contribution, high-temperature magnetite samples from apatite-iron-oxide deposits are investigated by means of Electron Backscattered Diffraction. However, the origin of Kiruna-type deposits is still unresolved. LÄS MER
2. GEOCHEMICAL UNDERSTANDING OF VANADIUM IN MALMBERGET ORES (KIRUNA TYPE), NORTHERN SWEDEN
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurserSammanfattning : The Norrbotten region is an important Swedish mining district with occurrence of several economic deposits and sub-economic deposits of apatite iron ores (Kiruna Type) and epigenetic Cu-Au ores. The apatite iron ores include the large Malmberget deposit mined by LKAB company as one of their world class underground mines. LÄS MER
3. Structural controls on the shear zone hosted, IOCG-style Kiskamavaara Cu-Co-Au mineralization
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurserSammanfattning : Sweden is the largest producer of iron ore in the European Union, as well as amongst the top producers for base and precious metals. Much of its mineral wealth derives from northern Norrbotten, type locality of the Kiruna-type-magnetite-apatite ores. LÄS MER
4. Characterizing magnetic susceptibility and remanent magnetization of magnetite and hematite rich drill-core samples at Blötberget
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/GeofysikSammanfattning : Laboratory magnetic measurements are used to develop a methodology to characterize the Kiruna-type Rare Earth Elements (REE) bearing apatite iron-oxide deposits at Blötberget in central Sweden. This high-grade ore deposit is known to have sharp boundaries between lens shaped main ore bodies of magnetite-rich ore, and a complex hematite-rich ore associated with pegmatites and skarn formation. 5. Oxygen and iron isotope systematics of the Grängesberg Mining District (GMD), Central Sweden
Master-uppsats, BerggrundsgeologiSammanfattning : Iron is the most important metal for modern industry and Sweden is the number one iron producer in Europe. The main sources for iron ore in Sweden are the apatite-iron oxide deposits of the "Kiruna-type", named after the iconic Kiruna ore deposit in Northern Sweden. LÄS MER
