   Sammanfattning : This essay examines the historical discussion behind creating a sharp distinction between the jurisdiction of courts and the administration of public authorities after the establishment of the Swedish constitution in 1809. The study addresses the following questions: 1) How did the inspiration for a clearer differentiation between jurisdiction and administration arise? 2) What criteria for defining the jurisdiction of courts can be derived from the historical debate? 3) Why did the discussion not result in an actual separation between jurisdiction and administration?
