  1. 1. Land Use and Land Cover Changes in Europe and the Impact on Near-Surface Wind Speed in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Nils Philipp Stange; [2023-08-18]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Investigations of Land use and land cover change (LULCC) have recently become of increasing interest. This trend occurs not only based of the importance of biogeochemical processes such as carbon sequestration, but also because of their climate impacts caused by changed biogeophysical properties. 2. 2. Land Use/Land Cover Classification From Satellite Remote Sensing Images Over Urban Areas in Sweden : An Investigative Multiclass, Multimodal and Spectral Transformation, Deep Learning Semantic Image Segmentation Study

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Oskar Aidantausta; Patrick Asman; [2023]
    Nyckelord :data fusion; deep learning; land use land cover classification; multiclass; multimodal; remote sensing; semantic segmentation; Sentinel satellite; spectral index; U-Net; Urban Atlas;

    Sammanfattning : Remote Sensing (RS) technology provides valuable information about Earth by enabling an overview of the planet from above, making it a much-needed resource for many applications. Given the abundance of RS data and continued urbanisation, there is a need for efficient approaches to leverage RS data and its unique characteristics for the assessment and management of urban areas. 3. 3. Soil erosion by water : Estimating soil loss and sediment yield in the southern half of Sweden by using the Revised Universal Soil Loss (RUSLE) model

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Ella Myr; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Soil erosion; water erosion; soil loss; RUSLE; rainfall erosivity; soil erodibility;

    Sammanfattning : Soil erosion has been recognized as an increasing threat to the environment and humans worldwide as anthropogenic activities have accelerated the soil degradation rate. In Sweden, it is estimated that 15% of the arable land is affected by soil erosion, and studies have shown that fields in the south of Sweden lose a substantial amount of soil under certain weather conditions. 4. 4. A study on the urbanization of Bengaluru, India between 2015 and 2020 based on Sentinel-1/2 data

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Shreyas Goswami; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Availability of timely information about land-use and land-cover (LULC) changes is essential for understanding and modelling the urbanization pattern, and thereby in planning sustainable urban development of a region accordingly. Remote sensing technology, using Earth observation satellites, has emerged as a reliable tool for timely monitoring of changes anywhere on Earth. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modelling the effects of land cover and climate change on watershed hydrology in south-western Ethiopia

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Nicklas Simonsen; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Hydrological model; Soil Water Assessment Tool; SWAT; Land use Land cover; LULC; climate change; erosion; Ethiopian highlands; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Degradation of the hydrological regime is a pressing issue in the Ethiopian Highlands. It is one of the most rapidly degrading landscapes due to its topography and large amounts of annual precipitation. This problem has been exacerbated through anthropogenic influence from land use/land cover (LULC) and climate change. LÄS MER
