  2. 2. Återbruk kontra återvinning av litiumjonbatterier

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Marija Lucija Pajtlar; Elin Söderlund; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Lithium ion batteries; battery recycling; second-life battery applications; circularity; battery storage system; Litiumjonbatterier; batteriåtervinning; batteriåterbruk; cirkularitet; batterilagersystem;

    Sammanfattning : I Sverige läggs stort fokus på omställningen till ett hållbart och klimatneutralt samhälle, där avkarbonisering och elektrifiering av transportsektorn anses avgörande för att minska utsläpp av växthusgaser. En storskalig batteriproduktion i Sverige och i Europa medför nya problem kring hållbarhetsaspekter gällande utvinning av råvara som exempelvis litium, kobolt och nickel. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigating self-discharge in a graphite dual-ion cell using in-situ Raman spectroscopy.

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Författare :Ismail Yussuf Hassan; [2023]
    Nyckelord :graphite; dual-ion battery; parasitic reaction; cathode-electrolyte interface; anion intercalation; concentrated electrolyte; self-discharge; Raman spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Anion intercalation in the graphite positive electrode of a dual-ion battery requires high potential (> 4.3 V vs Li+/Li), which aggravates parasitic reactions involving electrolyte decomposition and Al corrosion, manifesting in poor coulombic efficiency, cycle life, and quick self-discharge. 4. 4. Seeing Lithium Extraction : Countering the Myth of ‘Green’ Transition through Contemporary Art

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för kultur och estetik

    Författare :Victoria McCarthy; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Lithium extraction; contemporary art; extractivism; ‘green’ transition; myth; green sacrifice zones; visibility; countervisuality; Unknown Fields; Marcela Magno; Julian Charrière; Extracción de litio; arte contemporaneo; extractivismo; trancisión verde ; zonas de sacrificio verdes; visibilización; contra-visualidad;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the intersection between lithium extraction and contemporary art through a visual semiotic analysis of three contemporary artworks: Unknown Fields’ We Power Our Future With the Breast Milk of Volcanoes, Marcela Magno’s Land [2] Litio, and Julian Charrière’s Future Fossil Spaces. It explores how lithium extraction is visualised in the selected artworks, what connotations can be extracted from them, the geopolitical dimension expressed in them, and how they relate to the myth of ‘green’ transition. 5. 5. Automatic Detection of Structural Deformations in Batteries from Imaging data using Machine Learning : Exploring the potential of different approaches for efficient structural deformation detection

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Maira Khan; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CT scan; electrode peaks; jelly roll; keypoints; structural deformation; traditional computer vision; deep neural network; CT-skanning; elektrodtoppar; gelérulle; nyckelpunkter; strukturell deformation; Traditionellt datorseende; djupt neuralt nätverk;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing occurrence of structural deformations in the electrodes of the jelly roll has raised quality concerns during battery manufacturing, emphasizing the need to detect them automatically with the advanced techniques. This thesis aims to explore and provide two models based on traditional computer vision (CV) and deep neural network (DNN) techniques using computed tomography (CT) scan images of jelly rolls to ensure that the product is of high quality.
