16. Majorana Neutrinos - Same Sign Di-Muon Investigations in 8 TeV Datasets with the BUMPHUNTER Algorithm
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : A hypertest-algorithm, the BUMPHUNTER, is introduced briefly and tested by probing events containing muons in 8 TeV datasets from the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN against a background spectrum created by selecting muons from different collisions. The hypertest looked for excesses of same sign di-muon pairs which could indicate the existence of a Majorana neutrino. LÄS MER
17. Laser Stabilisation Using a Slow Light Cavity
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this thesis the application of slow light effects to the area of laser stabilisation is investigated. The frequency stability of lasers locked to external cavities is limited by the stability of the modes in the reference cavity. LÄS MER
18. Syntes och karakterisering av ogiftiga organiska metall halid halvledare för solceller
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)Sammanfattning : The endeavor to have more efficient solar cells and as environmentally beneficial as possible are the driving forces for this work. The way to reach this is by research to better the understanding of the mechanisms and parameters that govern the performance of solar cells. LÄS MER
19. Determining the effective temperature of cool stars from near-infrared spectra
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : Context. Effective temperature is one of the fundamental stellar parameters. A traditional spectroscopic way to determine it is from optical spectra using excitation balance of Fe-lines. LÄS MER
20. Look-up table based Monte Carlo inverse model as a tool to discover liver tumors
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy is a method that allows investigation of the chromophore composition of tissue. The objective is to explore if the composition can be used to determine whether the tissue is healthy or not. The measured diffuse reflectance is often modelled by a diffusion model. LÄS MER
