  1. 1. Analysing methods for visualizing time-series datasets in open-source web mapping

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Viggo Lunde; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; spatio-temporal; time-series open source; webmap; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Geography is the study of knowledge in a given location, and history is the study of knowledge over time. The combination of changes over time has always been challenging to visualize in maps. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Enabling Smartphones to act as IoT Edge Devices via the Browser-based ’WebUSB API’ : The future of the browser and the smartphone in home electronics IoT systems

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Ruben Lindström; [2021]
    Nyckelord :IoT; Edge Device; Smartphone; WebUSB API; Browser; Home Electronics; IoT; Edge Device; Smartphone; WebUSB API; Webbläsare; Hemelektronik;

    Sammanfattning : This degree project proposes a novel architecture for IoT systems, utilizing smartphones as edge devices and running the value-creating software such as preprocessing, anomaly detection, and deriving data-based insights in the web browser as opposed to natively on the device. Utilizing the smartphone as an edge device reduces cost of adoption for IoT technologies since less hardware has to be included in the system compared to bundling a device for processing with the system. 3. 3. Improving perceived performance of loading screens through animation

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för datavetenskap och medieteknik (DM)

    Författare :Samantha Persson; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Animation; Perceived Performance; User experience; Loading Animation; Loading Screens; Loading indicators; Loading time; User Satisfaction; Interaction Design;

    Sammanfattning : This study investigates the impact that loading animations have on perceived  performance. Two sets of usability tests were conducted to obtain the data for this study. In the first set of usability tests, 15 participants were observed. The second set was performed online with 45 participants who answered a questionnaire after using the prototype. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Texture compression for iOS : A case study

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för kommunikation och information

    Författare :Jonathan Nylander; [2013]
    Nyckelord :iOS; PVRTC; JPEG; visual quality; subjective user study;

    Sammanfattning : Due to limited hardware, effectively using the available resources is crucial for mobile games. Texture compression is a fundamental technique in game development to reduce the demand of memory and bandwidth usage. LÄS MER
