1. A parametric study of the static and dynamic performance of timber arch footbridges with different hanger configurations
Master-uppsats, KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnadSammanfattning : The influence of the hanger configuration in the arch and deck bending moments under asymmetric loads is widely used nowadays for improved designs of arch bridges. In this work, by means of a parametric study, those hanger configurations that most efficiently increase both the natural frequencies and buckling factors are identified, simultaneously evaluating the dynamic and static performance of timber arch footbridges. 2. An investigation of the design of cylinderical steel tanks modelled according to EN14015 and according to the Eurocodes
Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för byggteknik (BY)Sammanfattning : Abstract Storage tanks are above or below ground vessels for storing chemicals, petroleum and other liquid products. Above ground vertical cylindrical shells are typically thin walled structures prone to buckling and lose their stability especially when they are empty or have lower fluid level due to external loads. 3. Roof fastening for refugee shelter
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : There are constant natural disasters and conflicts around the world. In these areas, thereis a great demand to temporary housing. Better Shelter is a Swedish organization thatoffers temporary housing units for aid organizations. The product they invest in the mostis a metal frame on which roofs and walls must be complemented with local materials. LÄS MER
4. Towards sustainable shipping: Recommendations for the telescopic mast design of a sailing cargo vessel
Master-uppsats, KTH/LättkonstruktionerSammanfattning : A comparative study is carried out to investigate the most promising route towardsthe lightweight construction of a retractable mast for a sailing cargo vessel.Four design families are developed and compared. The primary criteria forjudgment are the structural mass, strength, and stiffness in relation to a providedbenchmark design. LÄS MER
5. Reduced stress method for steel in class 4 cross-sections : Evaluation of the reduced stress method for a railway bridge
M1-uppsats, KTH/Byggteknik och designSammanfattning : The effective cross-section method, also called reduced cross-section method is generally used for steel in class 4 cross-sections in considering local buckling. This method is a bit complicated and time consuming, which often leads to engineers not using profiles in class 4 cross-sections. LÄS MER
