  1. 1. Simulation and Experimental Based Hardenability Evaluation of Chromium Alloyed Powder Metal Steels

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Atharva Kotasthane; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hardenability; Martensite; Simulation Modelling; Microhardness; Microstructure; Härdbarhet; Martensit; Simuleringsmodellering; Mikrohårdhet; Mikrostruktur;

    Sammanfattning : Powder metallurgy is a branch of metal forming technology where metal powders are used to manufacture parts and components. It is a flexible and economical technique for manufacturing complicated shapes. This present work focuses on press and sinter technology and forms a part of Höganäs’s efforts of modelling hardenability through quenching. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fabricability of a high alloy tool steel produced with LPBF, with a focus on part geometry

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Zulfaqar Abdelamir; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Addtive Manufacturing; Laser Powder Bed Fusion; High alloy Cold Work Tool Steel; Addtiv Tillverkning; LPBF; Höglegerat kallbearbetningsstål;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) is a promising manufacturing process that provides that ability to fabricate components with complex geometries with relatively low lead times compared to other manufacturing processes. This allows for more freedom of design, as prototypes can easily be produced throughout the development process. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of Secondary Carbides in Low-Alloyed Martensitic Model Alloy Tool Steels

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Jubica Jubica; [2020]
    Nyckelord :martensitic steel; secondary hardening; precipitation; STEM; EDS; Prisma; size distribution; martensitiskt stål; sekundärhärdning; utskiljning; STEM; EDS; PRISMA; storleksfördelning;

    Sammanfattning : The development of tool steels for making and shaping other materials requires a better understanding of the material's properties during manufacture. These high-quality steels include many alloying elements, which give increased hardness during tempering. For producing hardened microstructures, austenite generation is essential. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Extraction Replicas of Common Engineering Alloys for Analysis of Small Precipitates

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Monika Rolinska; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Extraction replica; transmission electron microscopy; materials characterization; precipitation; Extraktionsrepliker; transmissionselektronmikroskopi; materialkaraktarisering; utskiljningar;

    Sammanfattning : Characterization of small precipitates is important for development of new alloys. One inherent  difficulty  in  characterisation  of  small  precipitates  with  electron microscopy techniques  while  the  particles  are  embedded  in  the  matrix,  is  that the surrounding bulk material will contribute to the analysed signal- limiting, for example, the quantification of the composition of particles. 5. 5. The Process Influence on Strength Properties of an Austenitic Stainless Steel (254 SMO)

    Master-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Anna Hellqvist; [2014]
    Nyckelord :stainless steel; hot rolling; levelling; strength; material properties; process parameters;

    Sammanfattning : This work has been performed at Outokumpu Stainless AB, QPE, in Degerfors where focus is on production of hot rolled tailor-made quarto plate in special stainless steel grades such as highly alloyed austenitics and duplex steel grades. After a period with low values in strength and a lot of deviations in tensile tests for the highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel, 254 SMO, there was a need to investigate what influence some parameters during process has on strength values.
