  1. 1. Synthesis of proteophenes that can be utilized as fluorescent ligands for biological targets

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Kemi

    Författare :Linnea Björk; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Fluorescent probes; Neuredegenerative diseases; Luminescent Conjugated Oligothiophenes; Protein misfolding; Aggregates; Amyloids; Alzheimer’s disease; Aβ-plaque;

    Sammanfattning : Small fluorescent probes are important tools when studying protein aggregates involved in different neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Luminescent conjugated oligothiophenes have been developed and shown to be excellent ligands when studying morphology among amyloids, due to their conjugated thiophene backbone that provides them with unique photophysical properties. 2. 2. Interaction studies of luminescent conjugated oligothiophenes with aggregated Amyloid β

    Master-uppsats, Biokemi; Tekniska högskolan

    Författare :Alexander Sandberg; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Alzheimer s Disease; Amyloid β; Luminescent conjugated oligothiophene; Limited proteolysis;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and was responsible for over 2% of all deaths in Sweden 2012. One of the pathological hallmarks is amyloid plaques built by fibrillated Amyloid β. Luminescent conjugated oligothiophenes are known to stain and give characteristic fluorescence spectra when staining amyloid fibrils. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Synthesis of Metalloporphyrins with Oligothiophenes as Probes for Amyloid Diseases

    Master-uppsats, Organisk Kemi; Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Författare :Snjezana Trupina; [2010]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Abnormal aggregation of misfolded proteins is related to numerous neurodegenerative diseases, which include Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease and prion diseases. Luminescent conjugated probes (LCPs) have been used as dyes for these supramolecular assemblies termed amyloid fibrils. LÄS MER
