   Sammanfattning : The railway infrastructure needs to be safe, reliable and efficient in order to meet the growing demand of sustainable transportation methods. One of the main problems the railway industry faces today is that a higher traffic load increases the need for maintenance, at the same time as it reduces the availability of gaps in the timetables to perform maintenance activities.
