  1. 6. A Conjugate Residual Solver with Kernel Fusion for massive MIMO Detection

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Centrum för forskning om tillämpade intelligenta system (CAISR)

    Författare :Ioannis Broumas; [2023]
    Nyckelord :MIMO; massive MIMO; GPU; CUDA; Software Defined Radio; SDR; MMSE; ZF; zero-forcing; parallel detection; iterative methods; conjugate residual; parallel computing; kernel fusion;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a comparison of a GPU implementation of the Conjugate Residual method as a sequence of generic library kernels against implementations ofthe method with custom kernels to expose the performance gains of a keyoptimization strategy, kernel fusion, for memory-bound operations which is to makeefficient reuse of the processed data. For massive MIMO the iterative solver is to be employed at the linear detection stageto overcome the computational bottleneck of the matrix inversion required in theequalization process, which is 𝒪(𝑛3) for direct solvers. 4. 9. AI Based Methods for Matrix Multiplication in High Resolution Simulations of Radio Access Networks

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Marcus Johnson; Herman Forslund; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Product-Quantization; MADDNESS; Radio Access Networks; Channel Estimation; MIMO; Approximate Matrix Multiplication; Pruduktkvantisering; MADDNESS; RAN; MIMO; Approximativa matrismultiplikation;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing demand for mobile data has placed significant strain on radio access networks (RANs), leading to a continuous need for increased network capacity. In keeping with that, a significant advancement in modern RANs is the ability to utilize several receivers and transmitters, to allow for beamforming. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Mobile Traffic Classification and Multi-Cell Base Station Control for Energy-Efficient 5G Networks

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Cai Tianzhang; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The global energy consumption of mobile networks is rapidly increasing due to the exponential growth of mobile network traffic. The advent of next-generation cellular technologies such as fifth-generation (5G) and beyond promises higher network throughput and lower latency but also demands higher power consumption for its denser base station (BS) deployment and more energy-intensive processors.
