1. Towards a setup for narrowband terahertz generation through difference-frequency mixing of chirped ultrashort pulses
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Terahertz radiation is a useful tool for inducing lower-energy excitations in matter, where it can be used to cause structural changes through direct interaction with the crystal lattice. Sub-picosecond optical pulses can be used to generate intense broadband terahertz pulses through optical rectification in nonlinear crystals, reaching peak electric fields of several MV/m and conversion efficiencies as high as a few percent. 2. WSA-ENLIL + Cone ensemble modeling of an Earth-directed ICME : Comparison with in-situ observations by Solar Orbiter and WIND at L1
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi; Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, UppsalaavdelningenSammanfattning : Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are considered the most energetic phenomenon in the heliosphere. Originated in the solar corona, they are formed by ejected plasma driven by strong magnetic fields. LÄS MER
3. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemiSammanfattning : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 4. Optical Emission Spectroscopy Pulse Distribution Analysis on Steel Production Samples : Accuracy, sample variation, spread in different samples and steel grades/routes
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : This thesis work aimed to contribute to the development of online characterization techniques for non-metallic inclusions in steelmaking. The study focused on assessing the precision and accuracy of the optical emission spectroscopy pulse distribution analysis (OES/PDA) technique using asreference light optical microscope (LOM) and scanning electron microscope(SEM). 5. Lignin Biorefining: Swelling and activation of fibers for lignin extraction
