1. Metaller i Vombsjön - Mygglarver som bioindikator för miljöövervakning
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)Sammanfattning : This study investigates concentrations of eight metals (Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) in the freshwater resource Lake Vomb, located in the south of Sweden (Scania), and explores the potential use of deformed Chironomidae larvae as bioindicator. Sediment samples from six locations were analysed against threshold values from the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and background values from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. 2. Marint områdesskydd i Sverige - En fallstudie av samverkan mellan beslutsfattare och intressenter vid utformning av marina naturreservat
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionenSammanfattning : Due to degrading marine environments and loss of biological diversity, marine protected areas (MPAs) are increasingly utilized to protect living marine resources. Unfortunately, effective management of these areas is often held back by conflicts between conservation and user interests, together with the limited knowledge on the functioning of marine ecosystems. 3. Citizen Science: An Uncut Diamond for Marine Monitoring
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionenSammanfattning : The marine environment is a vital resource protecting our ecosystem and a critical part of the wellbeing of our planet. Marine Strategy Planning (MSP) is essential for conservation and protection of marine monitoring systems and governments should constantly improve their strategies and aim for increased effectiveness of these systems. 4. Social Sustainability in Marine Governance: The Case of Barra del Colorado, Costa Rica
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Marine issues develop in complex social contexts, usually involving a large number of sectors, actors, and users. Achieving sustainable marine governance requires a continued and context-specific structure of interdisciplinary knowledge, inter-sectorial interaction as well as inter-institutional coordination that generates daunting challenges to government, stakeholders and civil society. 5. A pilot framework for BRM training
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Linnéuniversitetet/Sjöfartshögskolan (SJÖ)Sammanfattning : Human error has been a key factor in grounding- and collision incidents in the past and continues to present a challenge to the maritime industry in the present day. The feasibility of a pilot framework for Bridge Resource Management (BRM) training lies at the heart of this study, its objective being to gauge the possibility of the construction of such a model.
