  1. 16. Model Dialogues: 3D models as active resources – an experiment in data enrichment of 3D modelled lithic artefacts

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Arkeologi

    Författare :Michael Harris; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Digitisation; Visualisation; Illustration; Slow Archaeology; Photogrammetry; Digital Archaeology; Agisoft Metashape; Meshlab; Blender; 3DHOP; Metadata; Formation Processes; Use-Wear Analysis; Chaîne opératoire; History and Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis seeks to explore the potential for 3D archaeological datasets to become the ‘living resources’ advocated by Morgan and Wright (2018). This process is examined through lenses of object agency, object biography, Chaîne opératoire, formation processes and posthumanist theory with an aim to assess the capacity of digital approaches for enabling the self-reflexive ‘slow archaeology’ idealised by Caraher (2016). 2. 17. A Minimum Analytical Nodule Analysis (MANA) Based Study : Mobility and sedentism during the Middle and Late Mesolithic in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Anna Lindström; [2019]
    Nyckelord :hunter-gatherer; mobility; sedentism; MANA; lithic artifacts; jägar-samlare; mobilitet; sedentism; MANA; litiska artefakter;

    Sammanfattning : Lithic artifacts are used in the understanding of human history. In order to do so, analyses and categorizations are made of the artifacts with the use of several methods and terminology. In this thesis, the minimum analytical nodule analysis (MANA) is used as method to analyze assemblages of lithic artifacts from 16 archaeological sites in Sweden. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Land cover changes in Southern Sweden from the mid-Holocene to present day: insights for ecosystem service assessments

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Robert O'Dwyer; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Physical Geography; Götaland; Landscape Reconstruction Algorithm; Fossil Pollen; Ecosystem Services; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and human impact play a huge role in the sustainability and development of ecosystems and the services they offer to societies over temporal and spatial scales. Fossil pollen-based estimates provide unique information on past land cover change, but to date there are not many methods able to create spatially continuous maps and have a fine scale of land cover changes inferred from pollen information. 4. 19. De första Nösundsborna : en studie av hur västra Orust befolkades

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Ingegerd Sörgard; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Bohuslän; Orust; Nösund; mesolithic; neotithic; Bronze Age; fossil DNA; fishermen; settlements; megaliths; continuity; Bohuslän; Orust; Nösund; mesolitikum; neolitikum; bronsålder; fossilt DNA; fiskare; boplatser; megaliter; kontinuitet;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to determine whether western Orust was continuously inhabited during the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. Using reports from the archaeological excavations carried out in Nösund in western Orust as a basis, I discuss what conclusions can be drawn, relating, when possible, the findings to what we, thanks to analyzes of fossil DNA made in recent years, now know about ancient peoples’ descent. 5. 20. Relationen mellan människa och miljö : 5000 år av mänskliga handlingar och aktiviteter vid Lina myr, Gotland

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Arkeologi

    Författare :Anton Uvelius; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Lina Mire; GIS; simple predictive modeling; landscape analysis; Late Neolitich; Bronze Age; Pre-Roman Iron Age; settlementpattern; Gotland; Lina myr; GIS; enkel prediktiv modellering; landskapsanalys; senneolitikum; bronsåldern; förromersk järnålder; bosättningsmönster; Gotland;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to analyse and discuss landscape use during the Mesolithic – Pre-Roman Iron Age, with a focus on the Bronze Age and adjacent periods around Lina mire on Gotland. The timespan consists of several periods of which very little is known or in which there are large research gaps. LÄS MER
