    Sammanfattning : Assuming that Proportion Dominance is based on reason and higher cognitive processes – as opposed to affective and intuitive reactions – the present study investigates whether priming to a calculating thinking mode will result in more willingness to contribute in scenarios saving large proportions of small reference groups than in scenarios saving small proportions of large reference groups. The priming methods of Small, Loewenstein and Slovic’s (2007) study of the Identifiable Victim Effect were used to evoke a calculating, emotional or neutral thinking mode in 365 undergraduates.
