    Sammanfattning : In this essay I use Mikhail Bakhtins theory of the chronotope to come to a deeper understanding of the spatio-temporal relationships in Momo and the Time Thieves.     Sammanfattning : In this paper I explore the border between worlds in Michael Ende's The Neverending Story and Agnes Cecilia by Maria Gripe through Bakhtins theory of the chronotope and through concepts originating in performance theory: liminality and performativity. I examine the spatial and temporal relations of this place, the image of man as it appears in it, as well as the novels' performative aspects, and attempt to connect these traits with one another in order to discover their conjoined effect on the reader.
