1. Geometry Dependent Optimal Bounds of Absorption and Scattering Cross-section for Small Nanoparticles
Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)Sammanfattning : Light-matter interaction in particles of subwavelength size mostly depends on the size, shape, composition of the particles and relies on the properties of incident light. Henceforth, resonant behavior of light can be effectively controlled by changing the aforesaid geometrical parameters. LÄS MER
2. Comparing different methods of measuring particle size for pharmaceutical excipients
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)Sammanfattning : In pharmaceutical science, particle size is one of the most fundamental parameters of materials, but different particle-sizing analysis methods lack a uniform standard for measuring irregular particle size, making it difficult to compare the accuracy and applicability of different particle-sizing analysis methods. Experiments on excipients used in pharmaceuticals are carried out in this paper by laser diffraction analysis (Malvern wet and dry), dynamic image analysis (Qicpic), and microscopic methods (Qicpic, SEM, and light microscopy) to determine the applicability and limitations of each method, as well as to clarify their advantages and disadvantages. 3. Correcting biological infrared spectroscopy data for atmospheric gases and Mie scattering
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : Infrared absorption microscopy is a powerful chemometric tool with a wide variety of applications. It is, however, subject to considerable disturbances from atmospheric gases and scattering effects. LÄS MER
4. Evaluation of light scattering and absorption in aerosol nanowires
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Numerical models of the optical properties of a single nanowire are essential for reproducing the results of the measurements and understanding the optical processes. Intuitively, the properties of a single finitely long nanowire would converge to the ones for an infinitely long nanowire if it is long enough. LÄS MER
5. Inelastic LIDAR for Monitoring Aquatic Fauna
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : This thesis is oriented around designing the world first inelastic hyperspectral LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging) system for aquatic use. The system was designed around the task of monitoring zooplankton and environmental indicators in water. Scheimpflug lidar was previously developed for monitoring flying insects, aerosols and gases.
