    Sammanfattning : According to the Curriculum for the course Swedish as a Second Language, one objective of the course is that it should contain literature from various genres and cultures and that the texts should be written by women as well as men. In 2012, there were two different textbooks to be used in the teaching of the course Swedish as a Second Language 1;  Kontext, Svenska som andraspåk 1 by Eva Hedencrona and Karin Smed-Gerdin and Språkporten, Svenska som andraspråk 1 2 3 by Monika Åström.
