    Sammanfattning : In this study I will examine whether or not there are any differences in the representation of ethnic minorities and women between Hollywood movies released in the 1990’s and remakes of the movies released in the late 2010’s. The study is based on the assumption that the numerous political movements for equality in the 2010’s, such as Black Lives Matter, #MeToo and #OscarsSoWhite, might have led to a shift in the political climate that would impact the level of representation in the movie industry.     Sammanfattning : I denna fallstudie har vi undersökt hur en krigsfilm kan använda sig av olika gestaltningar och representationer av “vi och dem” och därför riskerar att sprida propaganda och därigenom även potentiellt påverka dagordningen genom att påverka den rådande diskursen. Vi valde filmen American Sniper som empiriskt material då den är baserad på verkliga händelser och att vi därför kan se huruvida detta påverkar möjligheten att använda spelfilm för att potentiellt påverka diskursen.     Sammanfattning : The portrayal of Arabs and Muslims in American film and television has been a lopsided affair since the beginnings of Hollywood movie production. Over the course of film and TV production during the twentieth century, and later, Hollywood and TV production companies has used the Arab as a negative trope to negatively stereotype them, or to elevate the perception of American characters in contrast to the presentation of the baser character of the Arab.
