1. Vegetation phenology derived using the plant phenology index and the normalized difference vegetation index for the Balkan peninsula, south-eastern Europe
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : This study analyses the performance of the satellite derived Plant Phenology Index (PPI) against the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for estimating start of season (SOS) and end of season (EOS) of vegetation growth in part of the Balkan Peninsula, Southeastern Europe (2000 – 2016). Results revealed that PPI and NDVI differ considerably; SOS and EOS may diverge by more than one month between the two indices. LÄS MER
2. Classification and structural connectivity of urban vegetation : A comparative study using different datasets
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografiSammanfattning : Urban greenspace has an important role in supporting biodiversity and providing structural and functional connectivity between natural habitats. However, the mapping of vegetation in urban areas presents challenges, as urban vegetation is highly fragmented and heterogeneous. LÄS MER
3. Monitoring trends of greenness and LULC (land use/land cover) change in Addis Ababa and its surrounding using MODIS time-series and LANDSAT Data
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) was introduced in 1974. Despite its limitations, it has been under use for monitoring bio-physical and cultural landscapes from satellite. LÄS MER
4. Tracing mangrove forest dynamics of Bangladesh using historical Landsat data
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Present, accurate, and reliable estimation of mangrove forests in Bangladesh is limited. Former estimation of mangroves extent and density has been more or less restricted to Sundarbans and do not represent the whole country. LÄS MER
5. Relationship between tree species composition and phenology extracted from satellite data in Swedish forests
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : This study investigated the “relationship between tree species composition and phenology extracted from satellite data in Swedish forests”. The proposed method investigated in this study aims at mapping the fractional composition of deciduous/coniferous tree species and also the fractional composition of Norway spruce (Picea abies) and several pine (Pinus sp.
