   Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to investigate how five boys in grade 3 of compulsory school structure and use language when they write narrative texts retelling and assessing personally experienced events. This is studied by interpreting how the boys use genre steps that are typical of the structure of personal narrative texts and by detecting and naming different linguistic features in the texts.    Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the autobiographical novel Arnold by the Swedish writer Emilia Fogelklou (1878-1972). By combining Gérard Genette’s narratology and Andrew Gibson’s narrative ethics this study seeks to examine through what means the relationship is being told and with what ethical consequences different strategies are used to tell one’s experiences from life.    Sammanfattning : Pauline Melville’s The Ventriloquist’s Tale is an intricately layered novel in which the myths and folktales of the Amerindians of Guyana, as they are represented in Melville’s novel, are engaged in a dialogue with their reality. This narrative/mythical dialogue results in enactments and re-enactments of the myths and folktales, not only retelling them, but also recycling them, resulting in the Amerindians interpreting their myths and folktales nonmetaphorically.    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to examine the narrative skill of sixyear- olds in terms of macrostructure and cohesion, and its relation to narrative content, auditory attention, auditory short-term memory and three measures of word retrieval. A group comparison of macrostructure and cohesion was also performed between children with and without epilepsy. LÄS MER
