  1. 1. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes. 2. 2. Development of an Accelerated Test Method for Compressed Natural Gas Fuel System Robustness against Contamination

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Elias Aretorn; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CNG; Natural Gas; Heavy-Duty Vehicles; Fuel System; Contamination; Cleanliness; Accelerated Testing; Experimental Setup; Pressure Regulator;

    Sammanfattning : A key factor for driving the shift towards sustainable transportation systems is alternative fuels, where compressed natural gas (CNG) is a beneficial alternative to the conventional fossil fuels with respect to greenhouse gas emissions. A fuel system is needed for heavy-duty natural gas vehicles, in order to transport the highly pressurized gas from the fuel tanks to the internal combustion engine. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Parametric Study of Separation in Outlet Diffuser of Rocket Nozzle Cooling Channel Rig : The Effect of Heat Flux and Angle of Outlet Diffuser for Rectangular-to-Circular Cross Section Transitions

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Farkostteknik och Solidmekanik; KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Författare :Hector Älfvåg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The use of natural gas with high methane content as rocket fuel has gained substantial industrial attention over the past number of years. Several actors including SpaceX and Blue Origin are developing natural gas powered rocket engines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Liquid Natural Gas : A study of the environmental impact of LNG in comparison to diesel

    M1-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Sjöfartshögskolan (SJÖ)

    Författare :Jonas Edfors; Robin Bremberg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Methane; LNG; Engine; Marine; Mole; Methane Slip; Ship; CO2; CH4; Emission; IMO; Exhaust gas; Environment; Propulsion; Heavy Fuel Oil; Ultra Low Fuel Oil; Diesel; Marine Diesel Oil; ECA; SECA; NECA; IMO; g kWh; EEDI; LSFO; Metan; LNG; Motor; Mol; Skepp; Miljö; Miljövänligt; Tjockolja; Diesel; Marine Diesel; Avgas; CO2; CH4; ECA; SECA; NECA; IMO; g kWh; EEDI; LSFO;

    Sammanfattning : Liquefied Natural Gases (LNG) has been an alternative fuel in the marine industry for several years, but lately, the amount of ships that have been powered by methane has increased a lot. Some of the reasons for this is because LNG does not contain any sulfur and releases less nitrogen oxides than traditional maritime fuels. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Small-scale biogas : A techno-economic comparison of Internal Combustion Engines, Micro Gas Turbines and Stirling Engines

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Emil Sund; [2020]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Gas driven power generation is expected to increase in the near future due to significantly lesser environmental impact than oppose to conventional fuels like coal and oil. Today, Natural Gas (NG) is the dominant product on the market and biogas, which originates from degradable organic waste, has not reached its full market potential due to bottlenecks in utilization.
