  1. 1. Niobium Ohmic Contacts for Cryogenic Indium Phosphide High-Electron-Mobility Transistors

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Linnéa Bendrot; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Ohmic contacts; high-electron-mobility transistor; InP; Nb films; cryogenic electronics; low-noise amplifier; quantum computing; transfer length method; superconductivity; contact barrier resistance; Ohmska kontakter; högelektronmobilitetstransistorer; indiumfosfid; niob; tunnfilm; kryogen elektronik; lågbrusförstärkare; kvantdatorer; Transfer Length-metod; supraledning; kontakt- barriärresistans;

    Sammanfattning : Ohmic contacts are crucial components in semiconductor devices such as transistors and diodes, and lowering their contact resistance is an important factor in device performance enhancement. This is especially important for low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) where device noise temperature decreases both directly and indirectly with decreasing contact resistance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Multicomponent TiNbCrAl nitride films produced by DCMS and HiPIMS

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Tunnfilmsfysik

    Författare :Grzegorz Sadowski; [2021]
    Nyckelord :High entropy nitrides; thin film; HiPIMS; hardness;

    Sammanfattning : High entropy alloys (HEAs) are made of at least five principal elements in near-equimolar proportions. The vast number of possible alloys and unconventional combinations of properties are the main benefits of HEAs. Ti, Nb, Cr, Al and N were chosen in order to create a hard, corrosion resistant coating with good thermal stability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Surface Engineering of Bipolar Plates for PEM-Water Electrolysis : Cost-Effective Corrosion Protection

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Tunnfilmsfysik

    Författare :Tristan Dettke; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Hydrogen; Water Electrolysis; Fuel Cells; Bipolar Plates; Thin Films; Coatings; Impact Coatings; IFM; Tristan Dettke; PEM;

    Sammanfattning : Hydrogen production by PEM-Water electrolysis is an environmentally benign and promising approach to store excess energy from renewable energy sources but facing drawbacks of high costs, mainly due to a harsh cell-environment. The aim of my Master Thesis was to reduce the costs of the most expensive cell component, the bipolar plate by surface engineering. LÄS MER
