  1. 1. Nattbelysningens påverkan på förekomsten av nattfjärilar i Halmstads urbana grönområden.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för företagande, innovation och hållbarhet

    Författare :Nelly Andersson; Richard Lindeberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :moth; lepidoptera: noctuidae; pollinators; night illuminance; sky glow; light tresspass; light clutter; glare; nattfjärilar; lepidoptera: noctuidae; pollinatörer; ljusföroreningar; Halmstads urbana grönområden; GIS; fältinventering; artidentifiering; SPSS;

    Sammanfattning : Sammanfattning Nattfjärilar är en utsatt grupp när det kommer till nattbelysning, eftersom nattbelysning påverkar processer som födosök och reproduktion samt ökar deras mortalitet genom stress och ökad risk för predation. Mörka och belysta lokaler i Halmstads urbana grönområden undersöktes för att studera nattbelysningens påverkan på nattfjärilars individantal och artdiversitet. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Transgenerational phenotypic plasticity: can parental host plant experience affect the phenotype of the offspring? : a study in behavior and physiology in Spodoptera littoralis

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Axel Rösvik; [2015]
    Nyckelord :transgenerational phenotypic plasticity; Spodoptera littoralis; performance; migration; preference;

    Sammanfattning : The Darwinian theory of natural selection first popularized by Charles Darwin in the mid-19th century has been widely accepted as one of the key mechanisms of evolution. However, before Darwin other scientists such as Jean-Baptiste de Lamarck had their theories about evolution. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Female mate choice and modulation of oviposition preference in the moth Spodoptera littoralis

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Amanda Karlström; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Spodoptera littoralis; female mate choice; precopulatory assessment; host plant; selection; oviposition; Aedes aegypti; experience;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, two aspects of reproductive behaviour in the Egyptian cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) were studied. The first was whether female moths make a mate choice based on precopulatory assessments of male mating partners, and the second whether larval food plant experience of an ectoparasite modulates the female choice of oviposition site. 4. 4. The effect of non-host plant volatiles on the reproductive behaviour of the Egyptian cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of People and Society

    Författare :Altaf Hussain; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Adhatoda vasica; electrophysiology; Justicia adhatoda; Lepidoptera; Noctuidae; non-host plants; reproductive behaviour; semiochemical diversity; socioeconomics; Spodoptera littoralis; spruce;

    Sammanfattning : Spodoptera littoralis is a major pest of cotton in Egypt, causing serious economic losses. Egyptian farmers highly appreciate biological control of the pest as synthetic pesticides are very unsustainable. Phytophagous insects rely on plant volatiles to locate oviposition, feeding and, mating sites. We tested newly emerged S. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Plume interaction and odour source spacing ofpheromone and non-host volatiles : : Behaviouraleffects on bark beetles and moths

    Magister-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Plant Protection Biology

    Författare :Muhammad Binyameen; [2009]
    Nyckelord :Odour; plume structure; plume interactions; Spodoptera littoralis; S. litura; Ips typographus; Lepidoptera; Noctuidae; Coleoptera; Scolytidae; PID; orientation; sex pheromone; NHV ;

    Sammanfattning : Insects have a remarkable ability to sense whether odours are released from one point source or from two closely separated ones. Therefore it is of interest to study the interactions of pheromone component odour plumes to affect the insect behaviour when the release points ofdifferent components are physically separated.
